CHANDLER

A nutrient suspension
applied as a foliar spray. It is formulated to be readily available

nutrients.
What are the components of Chandler Foliar?
- 7% nitrogen
- Chelated copper, iron, manganese, magnesium, and zinc
- Sulfur, boron, and molybdenum
- Natural surfactants
- Humic and amonic acids
- Liquid fermentation product (a source of fermentation substances
such as enzymes, amino-acids, vitamin-B complex, and microbial
metabolites)
- Selected plant extracts
What does it do?
Regular use of
Chandlar Foliar in conjunction with your normal fertilizer
program and sound cultural practices will improve plant
growth and nutrition. The specific benefits of Chandler
Foliar include:
- Increased uptake and availability of nutrients
- Enhances photosynthesis
- Promote flower development and fruit set
- Improve flower and leaf nutrient content
- Boost plant vigor under drought and other forms
of plant stress
- Promote yield potential
How do you apply Chandler Foliar?
The product may
be applied to plant foliage using conventional ground or aerial
spray equipment and is non-phytotoxic when used as directed.
Chandler Foliar may be applied by itself or used in a tank mix
with other products, and the product is compatible with most
fertilizers and pesticides. However, we recommend that you
test all chemical tank-mixes for compatibility before application.
You should apply Chandler Foliar with enough water (10-20 gallons per
acre) to provide good coverage of the plant, and it may be applied
with newer spraying equipment that uses lower water flow rates.
What is the recommended
application rate?
The recommended
application rate varies by crop, and the timing of the application
is designed to help the crop during the critical growth stages. For
more information on the timing of Chandler Foliar applications,
please refer to our new technical paper on the
benefits of a foliar feeding program.
The following list covers the application rates and timing for most
of the major crops produced in the Midwest:
- Alfalfa --- for a new seeding, apply 10 ounces per
acre. For an established crop, apply 10 ounces per acre at
the first burst of spring growth. Later, apply 10 ounces per acre
within 10-14 days after each cutting. For seed production,
apply 10 ounces per acre just prior to flowering.
- Corn --- spray 8 ounces per acre in a band over the row
at the fourth leaf stage. In general, the results from applying
Chandler Foliar to corn are sensitive to the timing of the
application. If you are interested in applying Chandler Foliar
on corn, please contact us for further details.
- Oats --- apply 8 ounces per acre at the second to
third leaf stage.
- Soybeans --- for beans planted in rows, spray
6 ounces per acre in a band over the row at the second to third
trifoliate leaf stage. For drilled beans, broadcast 10
ounces per acre at the second to third trifoliate leaf stage.
- Spring wheat --- apply 8 ounces per acre at the
second to third leaf stage. Later, apply 4 ounces per acre
at Feeke's stage 8 (flag leaf stage).
- Winter wheat --- in the fall, apply 8 ounces per
acre at the second to third leaf stage. In the spring, apply
4 ounces per acre at the beginning of new growth or tillering.
What is the per-acre cost of
Chandler Foliar?
The investment
per acre treated depends on the application rate. The
approximate costs for the different recommended rates are:
- 4 ounces per acre --- $3.50 per acre
- 6 ounces per acre --- $5.33 per acre
- 8 ounces per acre --- $7.00 per acre
- 10 ounces per acre --- $8.75 per acre
The approximate costs are based
on purchase of a one gallon jug of Chandler Foliar at full
retail price. The per-acre cost will be lower if you buy a
larger package size (2.5 gallon jug or 30 gallon drum) or
if you buy product under our Fall Discount Program (September
and October) or our spring Pre-Season Discount Program
(December to March).
